The drill is equipped with a keyless chuck,
which is inserted in the drill. If you frequently use a drill, the cartridge
may be broken, and if you do not drill for a long time, it can rust. In both
cases, you need to know how to change drill chuck.
Steps
- Loosen the chuck to drill bits without a key. Turn it to the right or clockwise. If there is no screw in the cartridge, you will be able at this stage to remove the cartridge.
- Insert a screwdriver into the chuck, if indeed there inside the screw.
- Turn the screwdriver to the right - clockwise to loosen the screw.
- Remove the screw from the cartridge. Choose the right size screwdriver to prevent cross threading.
- Try different size hex keys and insert the largest, which will be able to stick in the socket.
- Tighten the chuck with an Allen key by turning it to the right.
- Remove the Allen key and move it to the left side as a "handle".
- Knock a wooden mallet, striking downward, pushing the Allen wrench in a counterclockwise direction. Knock up until the cartridge is loose. Loosen it with an Allen key is enough for you to hand to remove the remainder of the cartridge.
- Fasten new impact drill chuck, performing these steps in reverse order.
Advice
In order to unscrew the screw, it is
necessary to turn the screwdriver to the right, clockwise movement. After
unscrewing the screws to remove the cartridge, attach the hex key to the left
and turn it counterclockwise. Most drill chuck thread of 1 cm or 1.3 cm. Check
the thread pitch before buying a new cartridge.
